Podium success for Wrathall at Brands

2007 Havoline Ginetta Championship Round 4 - Brands Hatch GP Circuit

Frank marked the 4th round of the championship with great race pace for a podium finish, in race 2 and a top ten finish in race 1 at the sun drenched Brands Hatch Circuit.

A superb qualifying session saw Frank line up 4th on the grid for race 1 and 2nd for race 2.

A poor start and gearchange problems meant  Frank slipped down the order on the opening lap of the first race. Once Frank had started a charge back through the pack, an incident brought out the red flags and a premature end to the race, meaning that Frank had to settle for a 10th place finish.

From the front row, Frank rocketed into the lead for turn 1 of the second race, leading the 35 car strong field through Paddock Hill bend.  After a dual with series leaders, he brought the car home in a Ginetta career best ever 3rd place.

Frank commented: 'This weekend has been fantastic, the car has been excellent, which is a real credit to the Team. I'm pleased to be on the podium, and give my Team, and everyone involved in the Will Hoy Scholarship a good result.  I will take a lot of confidence from this weekend, and I believe we can go from strength to strength.'

Frank Snr commented: 'The results at Brands show we are making progress.  Other than a gearbox problem everything went smoothly, and if we continue with the hard work, things can only get better.'

Next round:  Silverstone 11th/12th August
