Wrathall impresses on a difficult day for the Dynojet backed Will Hoy Scholarship Ginetta Team

2007 Havoline Ginetta Championship Round 3 - Snetterton

Frank showed determination and sheer speed during a tough 3rd round of the Havoline Ginetta Championship at the sun baked Snetterton Circuit in Norfolk this weekend.

After a very encouraging test, the team worked hard on set up and consistently showed pace to run at the front.  A tyre issue didn't stop Frank powering in to the top 5 in practice, even though he felt there was a lot more to come.

Gremlins struck in qualifying as a wheel bearing failure hampered Frank's charge for a top grid spot.  Remarkably, through sheer determination Frank still managed to qualify in the top ten.

A grid 10 start for race 1, saw Frank make progress, despite some high speed crashes and the presence of the pace car.  The newly replaced wheel bearing failed yet again and Frank had to concede a retirement from the race on lap 2.

The team once again, worked tirelessly on the car to improve it's capabilities.  A row 5 start in race 2 once again saw some high speed spills and the pace car was required on the track. Despite his best efforts, Frank succumbed to his poor handling car, and although battling and mixing with the pack, a trip across the grass followed by a spin ended any hopes of a decent finish.

Frank commented:  'After the testing we did, I felt really comfortable in the car and I was full of confidence. This showed in my speed and consistency and really highlighted the progress we are making. However, this race meeting was a disaster for us. We had a very good chance of a result, but that's racing and I'm confident we will be back for Brands better prepared than ever.'

Frank Wrathall Snr, Team Manager commented: 'Another major disappointment after what promised to be a good day, through circumstances largely beyond our control. Frank has been unable to show his true potential in the car.  The Team have let him down badly, but we must learn from this and increase our commitment and effort.

Next round:  Brands Hatch 13th/14th July
